Carolina Lures King Digger-These Kingfish jigs have won numerous King Mackerel tournaments. Our King Digger jigs have a specially designed hydrodynamic shape which imparts the ideal action to dead Ribbonfish and cigar minnows. These jigs are also used to sight cast to Dolphin (Mahi-Mahi). Available in 1 oz and 1/2 oz and 3 oz sizes.
Fishing Tips:
1. For rigging Ribbonfish to be trolled using a down rigger, use the 1/2 OZ Kingfish Jig and set the down rigger 10 feet from the bottom
2. For rigging Ribbonfish to troll from a rod tip, use the 1 oz size.
3. When rigging the Ribbonfish, you can add a hook 12 inches forward of the Jig in order to hook a live bait on. When you deploy the rig in the water, the live bait panics when it sees the larger Ribbonfish chasing it which causes it to swim frantically, which draws strikes even on slow days.
4. To rig dead Cigar Minnows, hook the minnow upward through the skull so that the hook exits into the center of the baits head. This allows the bait to swim realistically even at higher speeds. If the jig rolls to one side at high speeds, slow down.
